Iron Man Themed Yoyo
The culmination of 2.008 - Design & Manufacturing II was the design and manufacture of 50 yoyos. This process included the design of yoyo parts, design of molds for injection molding and thermoforming, machining of molds, optimization of manufacturing processes, and assembly of all 50 yoyos. This particular yoyo was inspired by the Mark V - Arc Reactor from Iron Man and was designed to light up as the yoyo spins. The yoyo bodies have embedded weights that lend the yoyo comparable performance to that of those on the market. Each yoyo half includes two injection molded parts (the ring and the body), two thermoformed parts (the thermo-window and thermo-circuit), and circuit components (battery, 2 tilt switches, batteries, and 3 LEDs).
